Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, covering materials, labor, and related expenses for construction projects.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring financial adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess project cost-effectiveness and recommend cost-saving measures.

Material Quantity Calculation:

  • Accurately calculate material quantities required for construction projects, including buildings, roads, interior work, and more.
  • Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs) and material take-offs for all phases of the project.
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure materials match the project specifications.
  • Monitor material usage and report deviations from planned quantities.

Value Engineering:

  • Participate in value engineering processes to suggest cost-effective materials or construction methods.
  • Provide input on alternative materials that meet quality standards while reducing costs.
  1. Site Inspections and Progress Monitoring:
  • Conduct site visits to ensure the correct material quantities are delivered and used as planned.
  • Measure and certify the completed work, ensuring accuracy in material use and compliance with approved plans.
  • Identify any issues related to material shortages or wastage and recommend corrective actions.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all materials and work meet industry standards, local regulations, and safety codes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to material procurement, delays, and quality control.

Collaboration with Project Teams:

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure smooth communication regarding material needs.
  • Advise the team on material selection, cost management, and inventory control.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of material quantities, cost estimates, and financial transactions.
  • Ensure that all documentation is organized and accessible for audits or future reference.
