Art Director

We are seeking an experienced Art Director who will be responsible for the visual style and images in magazines, newspapers, product packaging, and film and television productions. They create the overall design and direct others who develop artwork or layouts. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a creative mind to transform concepts into compelling visual representations.

Responsibilities:

Determine how best to represent a concept visually.
Determine which photographs, art, or other design elements to use.
Develop the overall look or style of a publication, an advertising campaign, or a theater, television, or film set.
Supervise design staff and review and approve designs, artwork, photography, and graphics developed by staff members.
Talk to clients to develop an artistic approach and style.
Coordinate activities with other artistic or creative departments.
Develop detailed budgets and timelines.
Present designs to clients for approval.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field.
Proven experience as an Art Director or in a similar creative role.
Hands-on experience with logo design, typography, color, web layout design, print production, image selection, and package design.
Proficient use of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design tools.
Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well.
Team player with strong communication and presentation skills.
