Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supply Chain Officer to join our team. As a Supply Chain Officer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain operations, ensuring efficient coordination of resources, and maintaining a seamless flow of goods from suppliers to customers. Your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate across departments will contribute to the success of our organization's supply chain function.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management: Collaborate with vendors to source and procure raw materials, components, and finished products according to established quality standards and timelines. Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
Inventory Control: Implement inventory control strategies to minimize excess inventory, stockouts, and obsolescence. Regularly reconcile physical inventory with system records and address discrepancies.
Logistics Coordination: Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods, both inbound and outbound, to ensure timely delivery while minimizing costs. Monitor transportation providers' performance and address any issues that arise.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms, pricing, and delivery schedules. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to gather accurate demand forecasts. Utilize forecasting tools and historical data to anticipate fluctuations in demand and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks within the supply chain process and recommend and implement process improvements for increased efficiency, cost savings, and overall performance.
Risk Management: Monitor and mitigate supply chain risks by identifying potential disruptions and implementing contingency plans. Stay informed about industry trends and global events that could impact supply chain operations.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze supply chain data to identify trends, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and make informed decisions. Generate reports and insights to guide strategic decision-making.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including production, sales, finance, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with overall business objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, best practices, and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
