Accounts / Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting and finance department, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, and managing the company's financial statements, budgets, and tax obligations.

This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of financial management practices and regulatory requirements in Pakistan.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee day to day accounting activities, manage the general ledger and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.
  • Prepare Quarterly, Semi annual, and Annual financial statements, including accurate trial balances, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Track project costs monthly.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial reports, complying with local accounting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements.

Tax Management:

  • Ensure accurate creation, recording and timely submission of challans for withholding taxes, sales tax, and other tax obligations in compliance with local tax laws.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities during audits and tax assessments.
  • Keep updated with changes in tax legislation and advise management on potential impacts.

Cash Flow and Treasury Management:

  • Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, payments, and receipts processing.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of financial processes to identify and mitigate risks.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with CFO/senior management.
  • Analyze budget variances and provide insights for financial planning and decision-making.
  • Assist in long-term financial planning and strategy development.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and manage the finance and accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to develop skills and improve efficiency.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CA, ACCA, or CPA is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive hands-on experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Pakistan’s tax laws, IFRS, and financial regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
  • Expert level knowledge of MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Urdu.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
