Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Oversee the entire inventory management process, including receiving, storing, and issuing of all store items.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records using a computerized inventory management system (if applicable).
    • Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.
    • Prepare reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and usage trends.
  • Procurement & Purchasing:
    • Coordinate with departments to identify and forecast their inventory needs.
    • Prepare purchase orders and negotiate with vendors for the best prices and delivery times.
    • Receive and inspect incoming goods, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
    • Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Warehouse Management:
    • Supervise and manage the warehouse and store room operations.
    • Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
    • Implement and enforce warehouse safety procedures.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control:
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual store budget.
    • Monitor and control inventory costs to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings in procurement and inventory management.
  • Team Management:
    • Supervise and guide store assistants or other staff (if applicable).
    • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor team performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or procurement.
    • Experience with inventory management software is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Inventory Management: Strong inventory management skills, including stock control, cycle counting, and inventory analysis.
    • Procurement: Experience in procurement processes, including vendor selection, negotiation, and order placement.
    • Data Entry & Analysis: Proficiency in data entry, data analysis, and the use of spreadsheets (e.g., Excel).
    • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with vendors, staff, and other departments.
    • Organizational & Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve inventory-related issues effectively.
