The Communication Officer will be responsible for managing internal and external communication channels and producing high-quality reports to support the visibility of Urban Cohesion Hub and coordination with stakeholders. This role involves developing communication materials, coordinating media relations, and preparing timely and accurate reports on program activities and outcomes.
Responsibilities and Main duties:
• Devise and execute a strategic communication plan aimed at amplifying the visibility and effectiveness of the Urban Cohesion Hub's initiatives across a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, collaborators, recipients, and the general public.
• Craft compelling communication materials such as press releases, feature articles, newsletters, social media updates, website content, and promotional collateral to spotlight the organization's accomplishments and spread awareness of its mission and objectives.
• Coordinate media interactions by drafting media alerts, arranging press briefings, and addressing media queries to cultivate favorable coverage of the organization's endeavors in local, national, and global media platforms.
• Oversee the organization's presence on social media platforms and digital channels like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn to foster engagement, disseminate updates, and foster virtual communities.
• Manager collection of information and data from the program teams to generate regular progress updates, quarterly snapshots, and annual reports on program activities, outputs, and outcomes.
• Ensure the integrity, precision, and uniformity of communication materials and reports, including compliance with organizational branding standards, editorial criteria, and donor specifications.
• Collaborate closely with program personnel, monitoring and evaluation units, and external specialists to gather and validate data, evidence, and success stories for integration into reports and communication assets.
• Offer communication support and capacity-building workshops to program personnel, partners, and beneficiaries to enhance their capacity to document, communicate, and disseminate their experiences and achievements.
• Curate a repository of communication resources, reports, and multimedia elements, and ensure their accessibility and utility for both internal and external stakeholders
Role Requirements:
• Master's degree, in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development, or related field.
• At least 3 years experience in communication, reporting, or similar roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector or international development.
• Strong writing and editing abilities, capable of conveying complex information clearly, concisely, and persuasively to diverse audiences.
• Proficient in media relations, social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.
• Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and reporting methods, along with experience in crafting programmatic reports and donor communications.
• Skilled in utilizing communication tools and platforms such as Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and content management systems.
• Capable of working effectively in a multicultural, interdisciplinary team, exhibiting outstanding interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• The applicant should have basic photography skills.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken Urdu and English; proficiency in additional local languages is advantageous.
