To provide secure and timely driving services and transportation to the Head Office and other employees. The key role of the driver is to drive staff members and guests safely, ensures Vehicle is efficiently maintained, attend office work as assigned and demonstrates organizational values to whoever travels in the vehicle.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Driver will provide full time driving and vehicle maintenance services to the functions of the organization. 
  • Strictly follow the traffic signals/rules & regulations related to road safety;
  •  Drive the vehicle carefully on the designated routes (including field trips and field area) in accordance with the schedule assigned by supervisor;
  • Unauthorized persons are not allowed to board the vehicle without authorization of the supervisor;
  • While driving, make sure safety belts of all persons are properly fastened;
  • Follow the admin rules and regulations and keeping records including vehicle logs, vehicle safety and maintenance;
  • Assist staff with timely schedule, route and direction information;
  •  Executes all duties as per instructions of the supervisor;
  • Cleans the interior and exterior of the vehicle(s) regularly checks oil, water, brakes and brake liquid, tyre pressure, battery levels and the entire vehicle, monthly or every 3,000 km (whichever is first), headlights, brakes, bodywork for dents etc. and notify the supervisor in case of vehicle maintenance;
  • Ensure the vehicle tool box is up to date with all required tools present in the vehicle before every travel. Also ensure vehicle fire extinguisher is valid and in perfectly installed in the vehicle.
  • All payments to be made through fueling card for petrol and oil change and submit computerized bill receipt in the office;
  • Assists other colleagues as needed in the project, programme or office if there is no travel pending, carries out other office work on request;
  • Uses all available information (including current radio news on traffic conditions) to update daily knowledge of road conditions, current passable routes and locations, and shares this information with other office drivers;
  • Immediately reports all involvement of the project or office vehicle in accidents, including minor accidents, damage, loss or theft of vehicle fittings;
  • Provides safe passenger transport in an official vehicle for office, project or programme staff, official visitors and guests;
  • Runs errands for the projects, programme or office, e.g. sending letters and messages, paying bills and buying smaller quantities of office supplies;
  • Safely and responsibly performing all official travel using official vehicle(s);
  • Any other task as and when assigned by the supervisor.

 Key Competencies & Skills:

  •  Excellent understanding of road safety.
  •  Ability to operate and control vehicle equipment.
  • Being physically and mentally fit to drive.
  • Ability to manage fatigue and stress.

Requirements:

  •  Proven experience as a Driver
  •  A valid driver’s license
  • Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts.
  • Enough qualified to maintain log book.
