Duties & Responsibilities:

Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts, choosing the best technology stack, lead to build the Database architecture.
Analyzed existing database structure, recommended how to decentralize and/or build a new decentralized database.
The focus will be on designing, developing, and managing large-scale databases to store and organize vast amounts of data and follow data compliance and security policies as per industry standards for data governance.
Own database designs and all data-related operations, issues, enhancements, etc.
Analyze the needs of an organization and produce an effective database system according to their needs and specifications as well as for future scalability.
Collaborate with application/system architects, information technologists, and other staff members regarding data storage practices, network operation, and other data-related issues.
Includes collecting data, analyzing the data, designing algorithms, drawing flowcharts, and implementing code for the logic developed through the algorithms and flowcharts.
Implementing migration methods for existing data, improving the system performance by conducting tests and troubleshooting, and defining security and backup procedures.

Qualification, Experience & Technical Competencies:

Minimum Bachelors (4 year) (HEC recognized) degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering.
At least 9+ years of experience in database design, development, and performance tuning.
Experience developing large-scale databases as a database architect.
Advanced SQL concepts and experience, writing Queries, Database Analyzing
Excellent data management skills including ensuring data integrity, data access, security, and archiving procedures.
Query Optimization, online Indexing, database Tunning, Database Programming
Proven ability to work in distributed systems.
Code repository e.g., GIT, TFS
Microsoft SQL Server
SQL Tools (Query Analyzer, Query Execution Plan, Profiler, Analytics)
SQL Server database diagram
Code Reviews, Debugging and Trouble Shooting
Knowledge and understanding of parallel programming, thread programming, concurrency control, and scalability.
Strong Interpersonal and Communication skills

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is an ICT-based system in Pakistan providing a single window for trade. PSW is a facility that allows parties involved in trade and transport to lodge standardized information and documents at a single-entry point to fulfill all import, export, and transit-related regulatory requirements. If information is electronic, then individual data elements need to be submitted only once. PSW will connect relevant government departments with each other and with economic operators like importers, exporters, customs agents, shipping agents, transporters etc, in Pakistan for efficient management of cross border trade. It will provide the ease and transparency in achieving compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, through an on-line facility, that will intelligently handle the information for each transaction without the need to provide same information more than once or to physically visit such government departments. Pakistan has committed to implement various provisions of World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement that includes implementation of a National Single Window (NSW) system before February, 2022. Pakistan also needs PSW implementation to overhaul management of its external trade for reducing time, cost and complexity involved to improve its position in various global rankings on competitiveness and ease of doing business. Guiding vision and mission objectives: VISION: Pakistan will establish a world-class automated hub by 2022, offering services and creating efficiencies, to reduce cross border trade related costs, time and complications for improved trade facilitation and compliance. MISSION: Improve cross-border trader processing by providing centralized ICT based services, simplified processes, effective and reliable automation, harmonized data exchange and risk-based selectivity in enforcement of government’s regulations.
