Job Summary:

As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees within the organization. Your primary duties will include computing wages, preparing reports, handling employee inquiries, and maintaining payroll records. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in payroll software are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  1.  Compute wages, deductions, and withholdings for all employees based on hours worked and salary information.
  2. Input payroll data accurately and efficiently into the system, including new hires, terminations, and changes in salary or deductions.
  3. Stay updated with federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements.
  4. Administer employee benefits, such as health insurance and retirement plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  5. Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, tax withholdings, and benefits deductions.
  6. Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, and hours worked.
  7. Address employee inquiries and concerns regarding payroll matters promptly and professionally, providing excellent customer service.
  8. Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  9. Coordinate with HR and finance departments to integrate payroll data with other systems and processes seamlessly.
  10. Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency, suggesting and implementing solutions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in payroll administration or related role preferred.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Certification in payroll (CPP, FPC) is a plus.
  • Experience with ADP, Paychex, or similar payroll processing software.
  • Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) software.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
