The Audit Officer will assist the Head of Internal Audit in conducting audits, ensuring effective controls, and identifying weaknesses in financial, operational, and inventory management, with a focus on compliance and accurate stock reporting of consumable and industrial items.

Required Qualifications:

  • ICMA Part-Qualified or Equivalent.
  • B.Com / other relevant qualification

Experience:

  • 2 to 3 years of audit experience, preferably in internal or operational audits, including inventory management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing the full audit cycle, including risk management, control management, and operational audits over financial and operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in developing internal audit scope and preparing annual audit plans.
  • Conduct operational audits, focusing on stock management and reporting of consumable and industrial items to ensure accurate tracking and minimize discrepancies.
  • Obtain and analyze accounting documentation, operational reports, stock data, and flowcharts to assess the effectiveness of processes.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports, highlighting findings related to financial, operational, and inventory control weaknesses, and submit them to the Head of Internal Audit for review.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure stock levels of consumables and industrial items are accurately managed and reported.
  • Conduct follow-up audits to ensure that previous findings and recommendations have been implemented.
  • Identify risks and recommend control improvements, with a focus on minimizing stock wastage, theft, or mismanagement.
  • Maintain clear communication with management to discuss audit findings and stock reporting issues.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in documenting internal processes and audit procedures.
  • Support in developing internal audit tools and techniques for operational and stock audits.
  • Ensure audit documentation and procedures comply with the organization's policies and relevant laws.
