Hillcrest is seeking to hire an experienced "Senior IT Engineer" specializing in IT operations, server management, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies for our prestigious Chinese Telecom client for its project in Pakistan.
Main Responsibilities:
- Arrange trainings/workshops for customers and partners about product technology and service solutions.
- Provide technical support service to our customers independently or jointly with the team.
- Provide value-added professional services support for customers.
- Conduct project implementation for service partners.
- Software upgrade/update implementation of IT devices.
- Provide pre-sales support for testing (POCs).
- Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software components.
- Ensure high availability and performance of servers across multiple platforms.
- Design, implement, and maintain storage solutions to meet the organization's data storage and retrieval needs, including SAN, NAS, and other storage technologies, as well as data backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Deploy and manage virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM to optimize resource utilization, improve scalability, and streamline IT management processes.
- Monitor system performance and identify areas for optimization and improvement. Implement solutions to enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of IT infrastructure components.
- Ensure that IT systems and data are protected against security threats and comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. Implement security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT infrastructure, including system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Work closely with other IT teams, as well as business stakeholders, and communicate effectively to ensure alignment of IT initiatives with business objectives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in IT engineering roles, with a focus on server administration, storage management, and virtualization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of servers, storage arrays, networking equipment, and virtualization platforms.
- Experience with enterprise-level storage solutions such as SAN, NAS, and RAID configurations.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and KVM.
- Familiarity with network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Career Level: Minimum Experience: 1-5 Years
