We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant operations, food safety, and culinary arts. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen activities, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, and managing a team of cooks and kitchen staff. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining a positive work environment and fostering creativity within the kitchen.

Duties

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
  • Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with regulations.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to maximise profitability.
  • Ensure consistent quality in food preparation and presentation.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist in the development of new recipes and culinary techniques.
  • Handle any customer complaints or feedback regarding food quality or service.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
  • Excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating innovative dishes.
  • Experience in supervising and managing a team effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A culinary degree or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.
