The Global Institute of Human Development (GIHD) is an educational subsidiary Trust of the Human Development Research Foundation and a recognized teaching department of Population Health Sciences of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), Islamabad. Our work is focused on building capacity in the areas of health, education, social and biological sciences to contribute to the development of physically, mentally and socially healthy communities around the world. We will do so by designing a range of high-quality certificates, diplomas and degree courses in development field tailored to address global development challenges in the twenty-first century.

Why GIHD?

Health Applications of Technology team (HAT-team), based at the Global Institute of Human Development (GIHD) is a unique team of health, data, coding and design experts with a special interest in concepts about the health context, technology, and people to improve well-being, health, and healthcare. HAT is focused on providing customized technological solutions for public health and research such as data management systems, website and web application development to non-profit and for profit public health research and service organizations.

HAT team works with the team of experienced researchers at GIHD, as well as with national and international mental health specialists. Through these interactions, we have become experienced in matching the needs of intervention developers, those using the technology, and the demand for innovative yet simple and affordable technological solutions that are culturally pappropriate.
