We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our team and work with children on the autism spectrum. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and implementing individualized speech and language therapy plans to support the unique needs of children with autism. This role requires the candidate to have the ability to create a supportive, engaging environment to promote communication and social skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Conduct speech and language assessments for children with autism to determine their communication needs and abilities.
    • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on assessment results and in collaboration with parents, caregivers, and other professionals.
  2. Therapy and Intervention:
    • Provide direct speech and language therapy to children with autism, focusing on improving communication skills, social interaction, and functional communication.
    • Utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques tailored to the specific needs and preferences of each child.
  3. Program Development:
    • Design and implement individualized therapy activities and materials that align with each child's goals and interests.
    • Adapt therapy approaches and materials as needed based on ongoing assessment and feedback.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of each child's progress, therapy sessions, and outcomes.
    • Prepare and present reports to parents regarding the child's development and achievements.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Stay updated with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech therapy and autism spectrum disorder.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Experience: Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder in a clinical, educational, or therapeutic setting is a huge plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in using a variety of therapeutic techniques and tools.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and their families.
