Position Overview:
BM Furniture is seeking a talented and passionate Furniture Designer to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, a strong understanding of current trends, and the ability to incorporate our unique materials into innovative furniture pieces. The designer will work closely with our artisans and material suppliers to create designs that reflect our brand\\\'s values and aesthetic. Additionally, this role involves visiting craftsmen to review quality, experimenting with different finishes, and collaborating with experts in brass inlay, marble, and other materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop innovative furniture pieces that align with Boston Mills\\\' brand identity and current market trends.
- Incorporate sustainable and ethically sourced materials into designs.
- Collaborate with artisans, material suppliers, and the production team to ensure the feasibility and quality of designs.
- Utilize 3D visualization software, such as SketchUp, to create detailed renderings and models of furniture designs.
- Visit craftsmen to review the quality of work and experiment with creating different finishes.
- Collaborate with experts in brass inlay, marble, and other materials to select and incorporate diverse elements into designs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and technologies to continuously bring fresh ideas to the table.
- Participate in design reviews, provide feedback, and make necessary adjustments to designs based on input from team members and stakeholders.
- Assist in the creation of marketing materials by providing design insights and collaborating with the marketing team on visual storytelling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor\\\'s degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in furniture design, with a portfolio showcasing innovative designs and an understanding of current trends.
- Proficiency in 3D visualization software, such as SketchUp, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable materials and an interest in ethical design practices.
- Experience in visiting craftsmen, reviewing quality, and experimenting with finishes.
- Ability to collaborate with specialists in brass inlay, marble, and other materials.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
