Audit Planning:

  • Develop audit plans and strategies for evaluating technical aspects of construction projects, including civil engineering design, construction methodologies, and cost management.
  • Identify key audit objectives, scope, and criteria based on project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and project managers, to schedule audits and gather relevant documentation.

Technical Audit:

  • Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of engineering designs, plans, and specifications to ensure compliance with technical standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Evaluate construction methodologies, materials specifications, and construction techniques to assess their suitability, efficiency, and safety.
  • Perform site inspections and observations to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify technical deficiencies, deviations, and non-conformances and recommend corrective actions to address them.

Cost Audit:

  • Review project budgets, estimates, and cost reports to assess the accuracy and completeness of cost projections and expenditures.
  • Analyze cost breakdowns, bill of quantities, and change orders to identify cost variances, discrepancies, and potential areas of financial risk.
  • Verify the allocation of costs to appropriate cost centers, work packages, and project phases in accordance with project accounting principles and guidelines.
  • Provide recommendations for improving cost management practices, cost control measures, and budget forecasting accuracy.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Document audit findings, observations, and recommendations in comprehensive audit reports, including technical assessments, cost analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Communicate audit results and findings to project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and clients, and facilitate discussions on corrective actions and improvement initiatives.
  • Follow up on audit recommendations and corrective actions to ensure timely implementation and resolution of identified issues.
  • Maintain accurate audit documentation, records, and files in accordance with audit standards and organizational policies.
