• Supervise and train laundry staff, including laundry attendants and technicians. Assign duties, monitor performance, and provide guidance as necessary.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of linens, uniforms, and other laundry items. Monitor stock levels, order supplies as needed, and track usage to prevent shortages or excesses.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all laundry items meet the hospital's cleanliness and safety standards. Inspect and evaluate the quality of laundered items and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and repair of laundry equipment, such as washing machines, dryers, and ironing machines. Report any malfunctioning equipment and arrange for timely repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control guidelines while handling infected linens. Promote safe working practices and provide training on proper handling of hazardous materials and equipment.
  • Prepare regular reports on laundry operations, including productivity, inventory levels, equipment maintenance, and quality control.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the laundry department's budget. Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping, nursing, and maintenance, to ensure smooth coordination and timely delivery of clean linens. Respond to requests and address concerns related to laundry services.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean and organized laundry facility.
  • Train and supervise laundry staff on proper procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or irregularities before distributing them to respective departments.
