Credentialing Specialist

We are seeking a meticulous Credentialing Specialist to integrate into our team, responsible for overseeing administrative functions related to credentialing within our health facility. Your primary duties will involve maintaining and validating files, as well as monitoring the expiry of certifications across the organization. Your role will entail collaborating with various departments to guarantee that all staff members possess the required accreditations throughout the year. A keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Identify discrepancies in information and conduct follow-ups
Present applications to the facility’s Committee
Assist customers with credentialing inquiries
Respond to health plan provider inquiries
Capture primary source documentation in computer databases
Ensure data is backed up
Follow compliance laws, regulations, procedures, and policies

Requirements and skills

Proven work experience as a Credentialing Specialist or similar role
Verifies and maintains the credentials of healthcare providers.
Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitors and evaluates care providers' qualifications and ongoing training.
Reviews qualifications of healthcare professionals to ensure they meet organizational standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Expertise with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Proficient touch-typing skills
Ability to focus for extended periods
Relevant training and/or certifications as a Credentialing Specialist
