We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business and Financial Analyst to join our Private Equity team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities. This position requires a strong understanding of financial analysis, valuation techniques, and industry research, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis & Modeling:
- Analyze financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) to assess the financial health and performance of potential investments.
- Build and maintain complex financial models (e.g., DCF, LBO) to project future financial performance and evaluate investment opportunities.
- Conduct sensitivity analysis and scenario planning to assess the impact of various factors on investment returns.
- Industry & Market Research:
- Perform in-depth industry research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and key drivers of growth.
- Identify potential investment targets and evaluate their attractiveness based on financial and strategic criteria.
- Monitor industry developments and assess their potential impact on existing portfolio companies.
- Due Diligence:
- Participate in due diligence activities, including financial analysis, operational review, and legal due diligence.
- Interview management teams and assess their capabilities and track record.
- Identify key risks and opportunities associated with potential investments.
- Investment Memoranda & Presentations:
- Prepare comprehensive investment memoranda and presentations for internal investment committees.
- Clearly articulate investment thesis, key risks, and potential returns.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior investment professionals.
- Portfolio Company Monitoring:
- Track the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve performance and create value.
- Support portfolio companies in strategic initiatives and financing activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis and valuation techniques.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, preferably with experience in DCF and LBO modeling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with industry research and due diligence is a plus.
- CFA or CAIA designation is a plus, but not required.
