Job Summary:

The QC Officer in the Food Safety Department is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all food products and processes meet established safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This role involves inspecting raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, as well as maintaining compliance with food safety regulations and company policies. The QC Officer plays a crucial role in identifying and addressing any potential food safety risks, ensuring that products are safe for consumption.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Conduct sensory evaluations, microbiological tests, chemical analyses, and other relevant tests as required.
Document and report test results, identifying any deviations from standards.
Ensure that all products and processes comply with relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and any corrective actions taken.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of food safety documentation, including HACCP plans, SOPs, and quality manuals.
Identify and report any deviations or non-conformities in the production process.
Provide training to production and quality staff on food safety standards, procedures, and best practices.
Stay updated on the latest developments in food safety regulations and industry trends.
Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Assist in the investigation of customer complaints, product recalls, and food safety incidents.
Identify potential food safety risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
Conduct regular risk assessments and implement preventive controls.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety and quality processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new quality control procedures and standards.

Skills:

Quality Control and Quality Assurance skills
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.
Proficiency in laboratory testing and analytical techniques.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Knowledge of HACCP principles (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)

Qualification

Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
HACCP certification, Food Safety Manager certification, or equivalent is preferred.

Experience

2-4 years of experience in food quality control, food safety, or a related role
