The Capacity Building Officers at the district level will be responsible to design, conduct and implement all the capacity building and training programs with CSOs, with the support and supervision of the Capacity Building Manager in Islamabad.

  • Develop a comprehensive capacity-building strategy for LCSs and CSOs in the nutrition sector, in consultation with project stakeholders, that aligns with the project's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the training needs of LCSs and CSOs working in the nutrition sector to identify specific areas for improvement and skills development.
  • Design and develop training curricula tailored to address the identified capacity gaps, ensuring they are relevant, practical, and based on best practices in the nutrition field.
  • Organize and conduct capacity-building workshops and training sessions for LCSs and CSOs, covering topics such as nutrition awareness, program management, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy, fundraising, and collaboration.
  • Provide technical assistance and mentorship to LCSs and CSOs, offering guidance on project implementation, reporting, and overcoming challenges related to nutrition initiatives.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities for LCSs and CSOs to collaborate, share experiences, and learn from each other. Foster partnerships between the organizations and relevant stakeholders in the nutrition sector.
  • Establish mechanisms to monitor the progress of capacity-building efforts, track the performance of participating LCSs and CSOs, and evaluate the impact of the training provided.
  • Develop and maintain a repository of resources, tools, and best practices related to nutrition and capacity-building for LCSs and CSOs. Disseminate information and learning materials to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist LCSs and CSOs in advocating for improved nutrition policies and programs at the local and regional levels, helping them strengthen their advocacy skills.
  • Support LCSs and CSOs in financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and resource mobilization to enhance their sustainability and effectiveness.
  • Ensure gender-sensitive approaches are integrated into all capacity-building activities, promoting inclusivity and equal participation of men and women.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, detailing the outcomes of capacity-building efforts, lessons learned, and success stories to share with project stakeholders and donors.
  • Collaborate with other project team members, government agencies, NGOs, and relevant partners to ensure effective coordination and smooth implementation of the capacity-building activities.
  • Conduct periodic assessments to gauge the effectiveness of the capacity-building interventions and provide follow-up support as needed to sustain the improvements made.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in the nutrition sector, capacity-building methodologies, and related fields to continually enhance the quality of support provided to LCSs and CSOs.

Undertakes any other task assigned by the supervisor.
