Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Management:

  • Oversee and manage the university's fleet of vehicles, including cars, buses, and other transportation assets.
  • Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and repairs to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Track vehicle usage, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Monitor vehicle insurance and registration.

Driver Management:

  • Recruit, hire, and train drivers.
  • Supervise and manage driver performance, including scheduling, route assignments, and safety compliance.
  • Conduct driver safety training and refresher courses.
  • Maintain driver records and track driving performance.

Transportation Logistics:

  • Plan and schedule transportation for university personnel, students, and guests.
  • Coordinate transportation for university events and activities.
  • Develop and optimize transportation routes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

  • Prepare and manage the transportation budget.
  • Monitor transportation expenses and identify cost-saving measures.
  • Negotiate contracts with transportation vendors and service providers.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of vehicles.
  • Investigate and address any transportation-related accidents or incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate preferably with DAE/B. Tech Mechanical/ Auto & Diesel.
  • 5 years of experience in transportation management or fleet operations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
