Medical Record Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled US Healthcare Medical Scribe Officer to join our team. In this role, you will assist healthcare providers by documenting patient encounters, managing medical records, and ensuring the accuracy of patient information within our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Your support will enable healthcare providers to focus on patient care, improving overall efficiency and quality of service.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters, including history, physical exam findings, procedures, and treatment plans.
Ensure that all clinical notes, orders, and communications are documented in the EHR system in real-time or as soon as possible after the patient visit.
Record patient medical history and update charts with current data.
Maintain and manage patient records within the EHR system, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
Assist healthcare providers with the navigation and use of the EHR system.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements for patient privacy and data security.
Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families as needed to gather medical history and other relevant information.
Facilitate communication between providers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Review and verify accuracy of medical records and documentation.
Identify and correct errors or inconsistencies in patient records.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance documentation processes and patient care.
Provide training and support to new medical scribes and other staff members on documentation standards and EHR usage.
Stay current with updates and changes to the EHR system and related documentation procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Health Sciences, Biology, Nursing) preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical scribe or in a similar healthcare documentation role, preferably in the US healthcare system.
Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, with experience in systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech being highly desirable.
Strong typing and data entry skills, with the ability to document information quickly and accurately.
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally with healthcare providers, patients, and other staff members.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Ability to identify and correct errors or inconsistencies in medical records.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high volumes of patient encounters.
