MONITORING OF IT PROJECT (Strengthening Computer Science & I.T)

This project was assigned by the Director General of Monitoring & Evaluation Directorate (Planning and Development Department N.W.F.P) when I was performing my duties and responsibilities as Internee-NIP in 2007-08. The aims of the project were to strengthening and develop Computer Science &I.T learning level in government high, and secondary schools (male and female). So there were 169 high and secondary schools from 24 districts of N.W.F.P (2007-08) selected for the project in phase-I. I was given the responsibility to monitor the project as per PC-1 (Planning Commission - 1) which I completed successfully in speculated given time with 100% accuracy. Main things which I monitored are as under; 1) Physical existence of IT lab with civil works done, specified as per PC-1. 2) Physical existence of complete numbers of computers with all accessories mentioned in PC-1. 3) Physical availability of chairs/tables. 4) Numbers of minimum required students. 5) Physical availability/attendance of IT teachers and Lab Assistants with their minimum required qualification and experience as per PC-1 criteria. 6) Students learning response (poor, good, excellent) and their attendance percentage in class. Prepared a questionnaire of above mentioned points and filled up from all school’s head master/mistress after physical verification and submitted to the Director General (M&E) with brief monitoring report. Flaws and recommendations sent to the concerned department for further action.
