Road Ramp Electric Power Generation

In this project, we are trying to utilize the wastage energy of automobiles for the production of electricity. By replacing the traditional speed breakers with some simple mechanism, Electricity is generated. As vehicles pass over the speed breakers, ramp is push downward, its vertical motion is converted into rotatory motion, and generator is rotated which in turn generate electricity. This method is an effective way to produce electricity as the numbers of vehicles on the road are ever increasing. It can be use to lighten the traffic lights, at the entrance of parking lots and any other place where the traffic density is high. Ramp is fixed at the speed breaker, which moves up and down and does vertical motion when vehicle passes over it. As vehicle passes over it, it generates electricity, which is stored in the battery. A chain drive mechanism is provided which transfer the motion to a DC generator for electricity generation. This method provides an efficient way to generate electricity from the kinetic energy of moving vehicles on roads, highways and toll plaza.
