Responsible for management of water (drinking water quality) quality related issues through monitoring, testing and recommending appropriate treatment by involving local communities, public health professional & other stakeholders in line with WHO/Emergency SPHERE standards and the organization’s strategy within the project area in the flood affected district of Jaffarabad, Baluchistan.

• Support the identification and availability of safe & clean drinking / irrigation water in targeted communities in line with WHO, SPHERE standards, and emergency protocols.

• Map water sources (Wells, Hand pumps and Public schemes) available in community

• Conduct water quality testing of sources and analyses findings for improving the quality of water

• Establishment / maintenance of Appropriate water quality instruments / Consumables in water testing laboratory at field offices

• Exercise corrective measure (water treatment) for purification of water at source by ensuring safety standards

• Ensure regular monitoring of water (post treatment) & treatment of water facilities to minimize the risks to public health

• Ensure to deal with waste water issues and its possible local solution for the communities the organization dealing with

• Conduct sanitary survey (pre & post implementation) and devise mitigation strategies i.e. to avoid natural / manmade hazards (salt range, graveyard etc) that can risk human life & ensure safety to environmental protection accordingly.

• Conduct awareness sessions for communities on management of waste water and on how to deal with contamination & other issues that cause risks to human health (water borne diseases).

• Capacity building of communities on water treatment at household level.

Technical Assessment of WASH activities for the rehabilitation work in the assigned district including (Rehabilitation of Water Source based Hand pumps, Rehabilitation of Health Facilities & their Wash Facilities, Construction of Pit Latrines, Hand Wash Units and Water Storage tanks, Rehabilitation of Water Supply Schemes and Construction of Water Storage tanks with Solar System).
Development of BOQs, layout plans and drawings for the proposed works under the program.
Provide technical support to Vendor/contractor/firm in the implementation process where required.
Support and coordination with Team Lead for the monitoring of implementation works at project locations.
Provide oversight, and supervision to monitor the quality and standard of the rehabilitation and construction work at health/ other facilities and in the communities.
Conduct market assessment for proposed work materials availability, unit rates of material & labour and formulate realistic estimates of the proposed activities of the WASH related actions.
Coordinate with the Program Manager- Emergency Response, and field staff for daily and biweekly reporting.
Ensure water quality monitoring, sample collection and water testing as per guidelines.
Provide guidance to the team on chlorination of water as per the standards.

 Develop guidelines of implementation as per project requirements to implement the project at the field level and to achieve the target as per set indicators.
Development of implementation strategies regarding WASH component and hygiene promotion intervention in multiple project(s). Planning, monitoring and execution of installation, reconstruction, and rehabilitation activities.
Design, plan and organize “Hygiene awareness & promotion campaigns in multiple projects as per program strategy.
Prepare a final report on the activities under responsibilities, including notes on methodology, tools, target groups, achievements, lessons learned, guidelines, impact evaluation, and Case studies.
Ensure adequate WASH outcome reporting and effective information sharing (with supervisors, donors, relevant authorities other partner support) to demonstrate closing the gaps.
Monitoring quantity, quality, coverage, continuity, and cost of WASH interventions with targeted population, data disaggregated by sex, age, etc.
Planning and assigning the fieldwork to field teams working on WASH interventions & food security of the project.

Coordination with District Administration (DC, AC & DHO office, PHED, Social Welfare, BISP, & Security Agencies) & local stackholders.

• Site Selection for the program activities and coordinate with local and regional stakeholders for achieving objective of the Project.
• Monitor the Community’s need and trends such as population shifts and changes in housing needs.
• Supervise field work as per plan/design requirement & Sphere Standards.
• Liaison with the vendor/s and team, Ensure high quality and timely delivery of the project deliverables.
• Coordinating activities with local government agencies and nonprofit organizations to ensure that community development goals are met.
• Additional responsibilities as Project officer to ensure project activities are according to operational plans and as per budget. Plan, design, implement and monitor field activities, process documentation and feedback to team members.
• Represent SPO at different forums as and when suggested by the supervisor.
