During my career I have worked with multidimensional projects covering social mobilization, community development, physical infrastructure development, food security, forestry, Emergency and relief, Environment and Natural Resources protection etc
Research & implement factors that affect agricultural production, such as soil quality, plant growth, and weather patterns, and develop customized solutions to improve crop yields and environmental sustainability.
Monitor the effects of soil characteristics, water levels, and water drainage on plant growth and implement the best crop management practices in response to these factors to enhance production.
Evaluate new crop cultivars and their potential in a grower’s cropping program.
Perform soil testing and plant analysis to determine crop nutrient needs and match fertility programs with those needs.
Advise on cropping practices that not only do improve the economic returns but also protect environmental sustainability.
Participate in technology transfer and training activities and conduct advisory information sessions and lectures for farm teams.
Evaluate crop performance as affected by weather, pests, and management practices, and on occasion, give evidence for insurance purposes.
Compile, categorize, calculate, tabulate and audit crop data and execute action plan accordingly.
Keep up to date with relevant research and apply new knowledge and latest agriculture practices.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (M&E Officer) will be providing support in monitoring and evaluating ongoing projects. The incumbent will be responsible for overall M&E and learning need of the project and will come up finding based on real data to show performance of the projects. The incumbent will also help in strengthening M&E functions based on experiences from the project. The incumbent will pay role in promoting of key learnings for the improvement of the project and for wider learning of the organization.
In coordination with programme heads and team leaders, ensure that the format, process and system of reporting are well-agreed and observed.
• Develop MEAL plans during project planning.
• Ensure that the cross-cutting themes such DRR, gender and protection are integrated.
• Lead in developing a responsive, functional and appropriate feed backing mechanism which can improve current project implementation and guide future programming.
• In coordination with programme heads, Partnership and Support Compliance Officer and local partners, conduct periodic monitoring field visits and ensure the documentation of field visit results.
• Ensure that MEAL process, systems and procedures are upholding the safety and dignity of stakeholders. In coordination with the Gender and Protection Officer, ensure that all MEAL staff are oriented on proper and appropriate conduct during data gathering and field visits.
• Ensure the accuracy of all data presented in reports to stakeholders including to donors, local government units, partners, community beneficiaries, among others.
• Devise and manage a MEAL training programme with the goal of increasing capacity and awareness of MEAL for all staff, including regular and scheduled inductions on MEAL for all new staff (if needed)
• Promote all aspects of MEAL to support the creation of an organisational culture which prioritises quality programming and promotes meaningful participation
• Support proposal development processes by providing inputs to narrative and financial planning, including the development of appropriate (SMART) indicators, costing for MEAL activities and contributing to Performance Management Plans
Manage the distribution and monitoring of cash voucher and food basket voucher
Coordinate with line department, Utility stores and other stakeholders for the smoothly implementation of the program.
To coordinate and manage the field team to implement the activities planned within the strategy of the program
Coordinate for the survey, registration and enrolment of Multi drug resistance Tuberculosis (MDR TB) patients.
To ensure timely implementation of activities as per project and planning requirements.
Liaise with the technical and finance department to ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of the program
Develop monthly and quarter program reports in consultation with focal person of the PMDT site.
In collaboration with Sector specialists and community members, facilitate participatory monitoring and evaluation processes with the objective of enabling community members assess their vulnerabilities and potentials with special reference to gender, child rights, marginalized children etc.
To maintain Indicator tracking table (ITT) of the projects.
Participate in Design and conduct of situation analysis to promote collaboration with partners involved in the implementation of WASH, DRR, CFW, Education, Health, food, protection, NFIs and shelter etc. interventions
Monitor the process of beneficiary identification to ensure participation of all community members including women and children and benefits to them as vulnerable groups
Monitor the implementation of all emergency, early recovery and development projects and provide accurate and timely information in terms of quality and time frame as stipulated in project designs
Work closely with Assessment, Monitoring, Evaluation and accountability Manager and other stakeholders to ensure that their information/reporting needs are being met.
Support post distribution monitoring, KAP surveys and reporting
Participate in design and conduct of need assessment studies and to support in making up figurative analysis and report writing
Provide necessary information and participate in project evaluations (both internal and external) as required
Review the documentation of all projects as per minimum documentation guidelines
Ensuring accountability system implementation at area program level and support to ME&A officer to maintaining linkage between M&E and accountability system.
Support and guidance to field teams on the implementation of the defined accountability system and identifying program area needs on program accountability capacity building.
Facilitate preparation of periodic reports on accountability; contributing to the learning on program accountability and leading other accountability related activities and events at the area program level.
Program accountability remains an important and critical aspect of program process.
• Assisting the AME Unit in the development and implementation of Appraisal, Monitoring and Evaluation strategies by collecting quantitative and qualitative data on ACTED programs and general pre-project data.
• AMEU monitors will also work closely as a part of the team unit with field and program staff. Monitors’ role is to support programs in their improvement and provide reliable information for coordination and management decision making and recommendations on projects.
• Working closely with AMEU Officer to design appropriate information collection tools and methodologies including the assessment ToRs, questionnaires etc, and assist where necessary by translating these tools and methodologies under the overall supervision of AMEU manager.
• Ensuring transparent, accurate and timely collection of data by administrating surveys, semi structure interviews, conducting focus groups of other participatory information collection tools from the field as well as collecting secondary data from secondary sources of information.
