Health Practice is part of the OPM’s Consulting Function. It supports governments, civil society, and the private sector in low- and middle-income countries in Health Systems strengthening by providing impact-oriented, bespoke technical assistance and consulting services. The portfolio works across all pillars of the health system, with a particular specialization in Health Financing (HF); Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and research; Health service delivery and governance; supply chain management; and nutrition.
Job Responsibilities for the role :
Contribute to the company's success by
Delivering technical assistance and consulting services in the field of Health Systems Strengthening, with a special focus on the following areas:
Leading on or contributing to the acquisition and bidding for small and medium-scale projects in the field of HSS;
Effectively collaborating with the OPM’s Bid, Finance, Legal, HR, and Implementation Teams.
Managing small to medium-scale HSS projects delivered by HP
Contributing to the HP intellectual capital development in the relevant fields as assigned by the PRL. This may include delivering seminars on HSS work and presenting on conferences.
Supporting the market development initiatives within the portfolio’s designated market areas, including fostering good relationships with clients including donor agencies and partner government ministries, taking an active role in developing new areas of work and potential new relationships through existing or new networks and contacts.
Ensuring effective collaboration with other teams across the Consulting Function and at the company level.
Comply with all internal policies, processes, and procedures including reporting, HR and financial management systems.
Undertaking other duties reasonably required by the portfolio leader and program director.
Good interpersonal and people management skills are essential.
Ability to work in a competitive and highly demanding atmosphere
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications Required for the role:
Post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Public Health; Public Policy with a Major in Economics, or in medicine, etc.);
Proven expertise in HSS projects and programs;
Proven consulting skills and achievements in areas of technical expertise in UHC;
Experience of project management, including the management of small to medium project teams.
Expertise in client relationship management.
Demonstrated success in the acquisition of competitively procured donor-funded development projects is an asset;
Experience in developing countries and/or transitional economies.
Excellent report writing skills.
Strong communication skills;
Excellent inter-personal skills, with a collegiate approach to teamwork.
