Strategic Quality Oversight:

  • Oversee the quality control and assurance processes across procurement, production, warehousing, and final product delivery, ensuring all rice products meet the highest quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy aligned with procurement, production, and storage operations.

Procurement Quality Management:

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure all raw materials (paddy) meet specified quality standards before entering production.
  • Establish and monitor supplier quality benchmarks, conducting regular audits to ensure consistent supply of high-quality paddy.
  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards for paddy procurement.

Production Process Quality Control:

  • Supervise the entire rice milling process, ensuring that the quality of rice (e.g., moisture content, grain size, broken percentage) aligns with internal and external standards.
  • Implement process control systems to monitor and maintain product consistency throughout production.
  • Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve any quality issues during milling operations.

Supervision of Stores & Warehousing:

  • Oversee the proper storage and handling of paddy in warehouse facilities to maintain product integrity and prevent spoilage or contamination.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in paddy handling, inventory control, and storage conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity) to preserve raw material quality.
  • Implement and manage inventory control systems to track stock levels, storage conditions, and paddy movement, minimizing wastage and ensuring timely availability for production.
  • Work closely with store managers and warehouse staff to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Supplier and Vendor Inspection:

  • Lead regular supplier inspection to assess their compliance with quality standards and ensure a steady supply of high-quality paddy.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to implement continuous improvement measures for raw material quality and delivery timelines.

Cross-Departmental Coordination:

  • Act as the central point of communication between procurement, production, warehousing, and quality assurance teams, ensuring seamless collaboration to meet quality objectives.
  • Align procurement and storage plans with production schedules to ensure timely availability of quality paddy, reducing production delays.
  • Work with finance and logistics teams to optimize cost-effective procurement and inventory management.

Compliance with Standards & Regulations:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety regulations, certifications (ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP), and quality standards.
  • Regularly update processes to remain compliant with national and international regulations governing food safety, quality control, and storage.
  • Oversee the implementation of safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols across warehousing, storage, and production to prevent contamination or spoilage.

Quality Audits & Reporting:

  • Lead internal audits to ensure that all departments (procurement, warehousing, and production) adhere to established quality control processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports on the quality performance of suppliers, internal operations, and storage conditions, recommending improvements where needed.
  • Present regular updates to senior management on quality metrics, non-conformances, and corrective actions taken.

Risk Management & Issue Resolution:

  • Proactively identify and address risks to product quality in procurement, storage, and production stages, developing mitigation strategies to prevent quality failures.
  • Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, including those arising from storage conditions (e.g., infestation, moisture), ensuring corrective actions are swiftly implemented.
  • Develop contingency plans to manage quality challenges, including poor paddy supply or warehouse incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to production.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and manage the quality control, procurement, production, and warehousing teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s quality standards and objectives.
  • Provide training and development programs for staff on quality control procedures, storage best practices, food safety regulations, and warehouse management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability for quality standards across all functions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in product quality, storage efficiency, and procurement practices.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and warehousing teams to implement new technologies or methodologies that enhance product quality and reduce waste or storage inefficiencies.
