Inspect Buildings: Conduct inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings during construction, renovation, or demolition to ensure compliance with safety codes, zoning regulations, and building standards.
Review Plans: Examine architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure they meet relevant codes and regulations before construction begins.
Ensure Safety Compliance: Identify hazards or potential risks related to electrical, plumbing, structural, fire safety, and environmental concerns during inspections.
Issue Permits: Grant approval or recommend changes to construction projects based on inspections, ensuring all necessary permits are obtained.
Document Findings: Write detailed inspection reports, including descriptions of any violations found, necessary corrective actions, and follow-up inspections required.
Enforce Codes and Regulations: Educate and inform property owners and contractors about building codes, ordinances, and safety standards. Enforce compliance by issuing warnings, citations, or fines when necessary.
Monitor Construction Progress: Ensure that construction projects follow approved plans and schedules, checking the progress and quality of work done.
Coordinate with Contractors and Designers: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals involved in the construction process to ensure all work complies with standards.
Stay Updated: Keep current with changes to building codes, safety standards, and other regulations relevant to the industry.
