Objectives & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong liaison with strategic management to keep track and record of new import/export shipments.
  • Remove communication gap between departments by bringing relevant information in their knowledge on real time basis for smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Analyze import/export data to develop purchase/sale strategies and to suggest future viable course of action for better business performance.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to maintain accuracy and completeness in all kinds of documentation.
  • Record import/export shipments in comprehensive and chronological order on separate G-Sheet to perform further analysis to highlight unusual trends before higher management on regular basis.
  • Calculate landed cost on per shipment basis and keep record of supporting evidence for future reference.
  • Maintain shipment wise proper separate files and keep complete set of respective documents in systematic order.
  • Coordinate with supplier for timely issuance of copy documents while keeping knowledge of respective shipment`s ETAs in advance to avoid extra cost in terms of demurrage and port charges.
  • Review the accuracy of copy documents received from supplier after matching it with its signed contract before sharing it with accounts department for payment execution.
  • Maintain separate record of “pending”, “in-transit” and “completed” shipments item wise at all time for further reporting to senior management upon immediate demand.
  • Follow-up with supplier to send original documents via courier after sharing swift copy over email.
  • To aware supplier regarding weight shortage (if any) over email in writing, immediately after receiving the goods and to maintain strong follow-up for recovery until the conclusion of the matter by concerned management.
  • Manage logistics through maintaining active communication with transporter/driver for safe movement of containers from port to warehouses with in “free days cushion period” provided by respective shipping line to avoid demurrage cost.
  • Make planning with store/warehouse in-charges about the future container deliveries well in advance and keep them informed at all times to avoid space issue, delays and additional cost.
  • Coordinate with export team and keep them posted especially about direct shipments status and other relevant matters at all times through demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in delivering new innovative ideas and strategies.
  • Highly effective cross functional team management.
  • Adequate expertise in bringing improvement in work practices and procedures.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and speaking skills.
  • Proven experience working in a managerial role.
  • Microsoft Excel.
