Essential Duties:

Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical issues in heavy and light tactical vehicles. Conduct repairs and maintenance activities, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system replacements, and electrical system troubleshooting, to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize vehicle downtime and prevent mechanical failures. Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and servicing according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.

Technical Expertise:

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of vehicle mechanics, including hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and diesel engines, to troubleshoot complex issues and develop effective repair solutions. Stay updated on the latest technical developments and innovations in vehicle technology to enhance maintenance practices· 

Team Leadership and Training:

  • Provide leadership and tchnical guidance to junior mechanics and maintenance personnel. Mentor team members, share expertise, and facilitate trainig sessions to enhance their skills and knowledge in vehicle maintenance and repair techniques.

  Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures during maintenance and repair activities. Promote a safety-conscious work culture and identify potential hazards to prevent accidents and injuries. 

 Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair logs, parts inventory, and service reports. Generate detailed reports on vehicle maintenance status, repair costs, and operational efficiency for management review.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality inspections to verify the effectiveness of repairs and maintenance work. Ensure that vehicles meet performance standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements before returning them to service.

Requirements 

  • High school diploma Matriculation or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal vocational training program in automotive mechanics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 -10 years of experience as a mechanic, with a focus on heavy and light tactical vehicles.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures, including preventive maintenance schedules and repair techniques.
  • Experience working with diagnostic tools, computerized diagnostic software, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications.
  • Must have relevant industry experience and demonstrate their commitment to safety.
  • In addition, they must have good written and verbal communications skills in local languages and Urdu.
