We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Freight Procurement Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in acquiring freight contracts and ensuring the profitable transportation of goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for market trends. This position will be responsible for developing strategies to source and secure freight opportunities, negotiating terms and rates, and maintaining relationships with shippers and brokers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement freight procurement strategies to meet company objectives.

  • Identify and secure new freight opportunities to expand the company’s portfolio.

  • Negotiate rates, terms, and contracts with shippers and brokers.

  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing and potential shippers.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.

  • Coordinate with the logistics and operations teams to ensure efficient transportation of acquired freight.

  • Analyze freight demand and pricing trends to optimize procurement strategies.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on freight procurement activities and performance metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align procurement strategies with overall business goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight procurement, logistics, or a related role.

  • Proven track record of successful negotiation and contract management.

  • Strong understanding of the trucking industry and market trends.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers and brokers.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and logistics software.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
