The Senior Manager of Sustainability, Social Impact, and Corporate Communications at EFU Life Assurance Ltd. leads the creation and execution of comprehensive strategies that incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles throughout the organization. This role focuses on aligning sustainability practices with company objectives and international standards such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). The incumbent collaborates closely with the Sustainability and Social Impact Committee to ensure that initiatives promote long-term corporate value while positively impacting society and the environment. Additionally, this role encompasses the development of corporate communications strategies to enhance the company's public image and effectively communicate its sustainability efforts.
Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a company-wide sustainability and social impact strategy in alignment with EFU Life's sustainability objectives, SECP guidelines, and international standards.
  • Ensure that all sustainability strategies support corporate goals and report on the implementation of sustainability initiatives as approved by the Sustainability Committee.
  • Integrate ESG considerations across all areas of the organization, including operations, marketing, human resources, finance, and investments, to promote a holistic approach to sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with SECP's ESG Disclosure Guidelines and relevant regulations, regularly reporting sustainability performance, risks, and opportunities to the Board.
  • Create a scorecard based on Statistical Performance Indicators that showcase the company's commitment to ESG governance and compliance relevant to Pakistan.
  • Identify, assess, and manage sustainability risks while developing strategies to mitigate these risks and leverage sustainability opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the HR department to implement policies and initiatives that foster diversity and inclusion within the organization.
  • Lead community engagement initiatives, establishing partnerships with NGOs and promoting social impact through education, health, environmental protection, and economic development.
  • Advocate for environmental stewardship by leading projects focused on reducing the company's environmental footprint through initiatives on carbon reduction and resource conservation.
  • Establish and manage metrics and frameworks for measuring the impact of sustainability and social initiatives, ensuring alignment with SECP guidelines and international reporting standards.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, including governmental bodies, industry groups, NGOs, and community organizations, to drive sustainability efforts.
  • Communicate EFU Lifes sustainability and social impact objectives across various platforms through strategic communication, enhancing the company's brand reputation and visibility.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging sustainability issues, using this information to revise and refine the company's sustainability strategy as needed.
  • Develop and execute corporate communications and branding strategies to strengthen the company's public image and manage PR crisis situations effectively.
  • Build relationships with charities and non-profit organizations to support social responsibility initiatives, coordinating all internal and external communications to ensure consistent messaging.
