WordPress Developer

A WordPress Developer is responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. They must have a solid understanding of industry trends and content management systems. A good candidate for this role is proficient in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL. Knowledge of other CMS platforms and SEO best practices is beneficial. The role often requires collaboration with web designers, project managers, and marketing teams to deliver fully functioning websites that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop custom WordPress themes, plugins, and modules as per client requirements.
Design and implement new features and functionalities on WordPress websites.
Ensure high performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS.
Customize and optimize WordPress installations for speed, security, and SEO.
Work closely with designers and stakeholders to translate designs into high-quality code.
Integrate third-party services and APIs as needed.
Perform website maintenance, updates, and security checks.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with WordPress websites.

Required Skills:

Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.
Understanding of responsive design principles and front-end frameworks like Bootstrap.
Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and website performance optimization.
Knowledge of server environments and databases (e.g., MySQL).
Familiarity with WooCommerce for e-commerce websites (preferred).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (preferred).
2+ years of experience in WordPress development.
Experience working with debugging tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools).
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
