Job Summary: The Sales Agent (Cold Calling) is responsible for identifying and securing new shippers for our third-party logistics and brokerage services. This role involves making outbound cold calls to prospective shippers, understanding their shipping needs, and offering tailored logistics solutions. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, persuasive, and capable of working independently to meet and exceed sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cold Calling and Lead Generation:
    • Make a high volume of outbound cold calls to potential shippers.
    • Identify and qualify leads through research and data analysis.
    • Generate interest in the company's brokerage services.
  2. Sales and Relationship Building:
    • Understand the shipping needs and requirements of potential clients.
    • Present and promote the company's logistics solutions effectively.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with shippers to secure long-term business.
  3. Needs Assessment and Solution Development:
    • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify the specific logistics challenges faced by potential clients.
    • Develop and propose customized logistics solutions that meet the client's needs and objectives.
  4. Follow-Up and Conversion:
    • Schedule and conduct follow-up calls and meetings to move prospects through the sales pipeline.
    • Negotiate terms and close sales deals.
    • Ensure a smooth transition of new clients to the account management team.
  5. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.
    • Prepare regular reports on sales performance and pipeline status.
  6. Market Research and Analysis:
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
    • Provide feedback to the sales manager on market trends and potential business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in sales, marketing, or logistics is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a sales role, preferably involving cold calling, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the logistics and transportation industry is an advantage.
