The Role: 

Cooperative Computing is seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) responsible for the design, installation, administration, security, configuration, and maintenance of all firm databases. The Senior Database Administrator also oversees database analysis and reporting, documentation, performance tuning, and monitoring to ensure optimal functionality.

Capabilities

• 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• 3 years of experience with MY SQL Server Administration experience required
• 5 years of experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
• 5 years of experience with backups, restores and recovery models 
• 5 years of experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• SQL Server Administration: Extensive experience managing SQL Server databases, ensuring their stability, availability, and scalability.
• Configuration and Maintenance: Proficiency in setting up and maintaining database servers and processes.
• Performance Monitoring: Expertise in continuously monitoring system health and performance.
• Issue Resolution: Ability to analyze and solve issues in real time, providing effective solutions.
• Automation and Optimization: Skilled in refining and automating regular processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes.
• Developer Support: Competence in assisting developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
• 24x7 Support: Commitment to providing round-the-clock support for critical production systems.
• Maintenance and Deployment: Experience performing scheduled maintenance and supporting release deployment activities after hours.
• High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR): Knowledgeable in SQL Server HA and DR options.
• SQL Traces and Execution Plans: Proficient in performing and analyzing SQL traces and execution plans.
• SQL Clusters: Experienced in designing and managing SQL clusters using Always On Availability Groups.
• Standard Operating Procedures: Ability to develop and document SOPs and train IT operations staff.
• Bonus Skills: Experience with MySQL/Maria DB, PostgreSQL, NoSQL technologies (MongoDB and Redis), and cloud SQL environments (Azure SQL, MS SQL Server on hosted VMs).
