Summary

We are looking for an innovative and driven business development officer to join our growing team. The individual in this role would be responsible for analyzing our customer base and current sales strategies and identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and profitability. We are seeking a candidate who is creatively minded and eager to think outside the box when it comes to our customers and their needs. Candidates with a background in sales who are analytically minded and motivated will do well in this role.

Note:

*The main goal for this position is to bring in new customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze current and past expense budgets, sales, product deficiencies, and revenues. This enables him to provide recommendations for the company’s growth and resolution of problems
  • Explain to potential customers about the various benefits offered by company products or services; following them up so as to close the business deals
  • Engage in market research in order to identify new opportunities for business
  • Respond to queries and complaints from clients as regards the company’s products; this should be done in a timely fashion
  • Develop business proposals for new customers
  • Negotiate timelines and budgets
  • Develop and test unique business strategies and concepts
  • Collaborate with colleagues and peers on the sales, marketing, and product development teams to improve overall customer experience and satisfaction
  • Stay up to date on company best practices, policies, products, pricing, and promotions
  • Increase overall sales efficiency and profitability through excellent salesmanship
  • Develop innovative strategies for retaining clients; this includes undertaking interviews in order to get feedback and incorporate it into the growth plan
  • Prepare annual budget (marketing) and track expenses relating to the budget
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge about the business and its development practices, its marketing activities, prospective clients, and the trends for the industry
  • Establish a knowledge storehouse of clients, referrals, REPs, presentations, and prospects
  • Participate in forums related to the industry; conferences and client discussions. In other words, act as a representative of the company
  • Determine cross-selling opportunities among different offices.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent experience in related field acceptable as well (example: Three-plus years in sales or business development environment)
  • Familiarity with relevant software, such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Salesforce a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact with diverse groups of people both in writing and in speaking without getting misunderstood
  • Critical thinking skills, analytical, organized
  • Creatively-minded, good at thinking outside the box
  • Ability to travel when necessary to meet with clients and build business relationships
  • Must be available full time
  • Should have the ability to build and maintain relationships and contacts in and outside the company
  • Must possess a good business sense
  • Should be able to pitch to clients on company’s new and available goods and services
  • Ability to work under pressure and still meet up with given deadlines
  • The ability to dialogue with clients and arrive at a mutually beneficial outcome is important
  • Must be a notably pleasant character
  • Must be flexible and able multi-task on the job
  • Ability to constantly generate new ideas for the company’s advancement and success
  • Should have the ability to plan for a project and follow it up to its completion
  • Should have the ability to effectively cope with colleagues and clients and move them towards accomplishing certain tasks and goals
  • Must be willing and able to pay attention to details
