The Manager of Procurement is responsible for managing and overseeing all procurement activities. This includes planning, sourcing, and purchasing goods and services in compliance with organizational policies. The role is pivotal in ensuring cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery, quality assurance, and maintaining ethical procurement standards.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with operational goals.
  • Forecast procurement needs, prepare procurement plans, and manage the procurement budget.
  • Ensure timely procurement of goods and services.

Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain a reliable supplier base.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to ensure favorable outcomes for the organization.
  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure adherence to contractual obligations, including quality and timely delivery.

Purchasing & Contract Management

  • Oversee the entire procurement process from purchase requests to delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Prepare and review procurement contracts and agreements, ensuring they meet legal and organizational standards.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of procurement records in accordance with donor requirements and internal policies.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of professionalism and accountability.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and provide ongoing development opportunities for the team.

Good Understanding of Computer Software 

  • All our purchasing is managed and maintained through software (an ERP system). Therefore, good computer skills is a must.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal departments, project teams, and senior managment on regular basis.
  • Act as a liaison between Company and external suppliers, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.
