We are a startup tech company in Karachi, Pakistan that specializes in developing innovative web solutions. We are seeking an experienced WordPress Developer / Web Developer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for coding and web development and have experience working with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Requirements:

Proficiency in WordPress Development: Extensive experience with WordPress theme development, particularly with block-based themes and the WordPress Block Editor (Gutenberg).
Gutenberg API: Experience in working with the Gutenberg Block Editor API to create custom blocks and modify existing ones.
Knowledge of WordPress Standards: Familiarity with WordPress coding standards, best practices, and theme review guidelines.
Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and fix theme-related issues independently.
Proficient in Frontend Technologies: Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), PHP, and React.js, as well as experience using modern frontend workflows (Webpack, Node.js, etc.).
Knowledge of Bootstrap 5 and TailwindCSS.
Knowledge of SEO Principles.
Solid Understanding of Design Principles, Color Theory, and Typography.
Familiarity with Software like Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and Content Management Systems.
In-depth Understanding of the Entire Web Development Process (Design, Development and Deployment)
Familiarity with Browser Testing and Debugging.
Mobile-First Development: Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first principles.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to code quality, performance, and design implementation.
Degree or Certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Or Related Field.
1-2 Years of Experience in Website Development, Preferably in a Startup or Tech Company

Responsibilities:

Design and Develop WordPress Block Themes: Create fully custom block-based themes using modern WordPress development practices, adhering to the latest WordPress standards and best practices for block themes.
Gutenberg Block Development: Develop custom Gutenberg blocks using React, JavaScript, and PHP, integrating seamlessly into the WordPress Block Editor.
Theme Customization: Customize themes based on specific design requirements, ensuring flexibility and ease of use for content editors.
Performance Optimization: Ensure fast, responsive, and lightweight themes by focusing on efficient coding, asset optimization, and mobile-first principles.
Testing and Debugging: Test for compatibility, usability, and performance across various devices and browsers; troubleshoot and debug code where needed.
Maintenance and Updates: Keep themes up-to-date with the latest WordPress versions and security practices, providing support for existing themes when necessary.
Design and Develop Visually Appealing, Intuitive, And Responsive Websites using HTML/CSS, SCSS, and CSS Frameworks, i.e., Bootstrap and TailwindCSS.
Develop Code Snippets using HTML, CSS, SCSS, and JavaScript.
Write a Clean and Efficient Code that Meets the Company's Coding Standards and Best Practices.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
