The Centre for Development and Evaluation (C4DE), Pakistan, is looking for a full-time French-speaking Research and Evaluation Manager for qualitative research methods starting at the earliest possible date. The successful candidate will be based in Islamabad, Pakistan. The successful candidate will assume a leading position towards mixed methods impact evaluations as well as purely qualitative evaluation projects taking place in Africa, Asia, and South America.
Roles and responsibilities
As Qualitative Research and Evaluation Manager, you will take a leading role in designing and technical backstopping of qualitative and mixed-methods research and evaluation projects at C4ED. You will conduct quality assurance throughout all stages of evaluation projects, from design to reporting. Depending on your level of experience, you may also take coordinating roles in projects. What we are looking for
You have a postgraduate degree in social science, international development, geography, anthropology, political science, public health, gender studies or a related field, with extensive training and experience in implementing qualitative data collection and conducting analysis. Familiarity with mixed methods research is a plus but not required. Knowledge of issues in development (e.g., agriculture, education, health, child labour, gender equality, poverty, inclusive development, climate change adaptation) is highly desirable.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English; written and verbal communication skills in other languages (e.g., German, Spanish, Arabic) would be a plus. Knowledge of software used for qualitative analysis (e.g., MAXQDA, NVivo) is desirable but not required.
You are detail-oriented and adept at multitasking. You enjoy interacting with a wide range of individuals ranging from researchers to clients and research partners in the project countries, and you can maintain good collaborations.
Positions is based in Islamabad and may include short trips to research project sites in other countries.
