The Printing Manager is responsible for overseeing the printing operations in a football manufacturing environment. This role ensures high-quality printing of designs, logos, and branding on football panels while maintaining efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality and safety standards. The Printing Manager will also lead a team of technicians and operators, ensuring smooth production flow and troubleshooting any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities

1. Printing Operations Management

  • Oversee daily printing operations, ensuring all processes align with production schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor printing techniques such as screen printing, heat transfer, sublimation, and digital printing to ensure precise and durable prints on football panels.
  • Ensure proper setup, calibration, and maintenance of printing machines and equipment.
  • Develop and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for all printing processes to improve efficiency and consistency.

2. Quality Control & Assurance

  • Ensure prints meet industry standards in terms of durability, color accuracy, and alignment.
  • Conduct inspections and tests for color consistency, adhesion, and defect identification.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to identify and resolve any printing defects.
  • Work on continuous improvements to enhance the quality and longevity of prints.

3. Team Leadership & Training

  • Supervise and lead a team of printing operators, technicians, and assistants.
  • Provide training on proper machine handling, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Assign tasks and monitor employee performance to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, discipline, and productivity.

4. Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Oversee the maintenance schedule for all printing machinery and ensure proper upkeep.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in printing machines to minimize downtime.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams for repair and upgrade needs.

5. Inventory & Material Management

  • Manage printing supplies, inks, solvents, and other raw materials to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of inks and chemicals in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to source high-quality printing materials.

6. Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Research and implement new printing technologies and techniques to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Evaluate and recommend cost-effective printing solutions without compromising quality.
  • Optimize workflow to reduce waste, improve turnaround times, and enhance sustainability.

7. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all printing processes comply with workplace safety regulations.
  • Implement proper waste disposal methods for printing inks and chemicals.
  • Enforce PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) usage and workplace hygiene among employees.

Key Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Printing Technology, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in printing operations within the football manufacturing industry.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in screen printing, heat transfer, and sublimation printing.
  • Strong knowledge of printing inks, adhesives, coatings, and drying techniques.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining printing machines used in football panel printing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues in printing equipment.
  • Understanding of color matching, pantone shades, and print durability factors.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage production pressures.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with production, quality, and procurement teams.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Other Requirements

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO and quality management systems related to printing.

Anwar Khawaja Industries is engaged in the business of manufacturing and export of Soccer Balls, Rubber Bladders, Sports Wears and Sports Protective Equipments carried out in three manufacturing sites. Since its inception, the company remains in the hunt of latest technology and engaged in research and development to produce best quality products. The first important milestone was reached in 1966, when company developed pre-stretched leather balls and became the first manufacturer of pre-stretched leather balls in Pakistan. The company developed it own brand “Double Star which was approved by FIFA in 1967 and was the first FIFA approved ball from Pakistan. Double Star remained a symbol of quality for decades. In 1976, Select Sports A/S of Denmark entered into an enduring business association with Anwar Khawaja Industries and transferred necessary technology for making artificial leather balls, which by that time had almost replaced the natural leather balls. Since 1976, Anwar Khawaja Industries and Select Sports A/s, Denmark have a unique relationship rarely seen in todays business world. The company is producing balls exclusively for Select Sports, Denmark and at the same time whatever Select is marketing is produced by Anwar Khawaja Industries. It is however pertinent to mention here that there has never been a written agreement among these two organizations in this regard. The company is supplying more than 2.5 million balls annually to Select Sports and its customers world wide including Europe and America and has the capacity to produce 10,000 balls per day. Protective Gears. In 1983, the company diversified its operations and started making Protective Gears such as Leg guards, Chest Guards, Arm Guards and Gloves for Hockey and Cricket to cope with the demand of various customers. Presently, the company is producing protective equipments for TK Hockey Germany, Grays of Cambridge England and other customers world wide. In 1991, the company established a Garments Unit to produce quality sports wears primarily for its own existing customers. The company is producing complete range of sports wears which includes shorts, shirts, skirts, trousers and jackets in knitted and woven fabrics. The company has presently installed around 150 stitching and allied machines. The company has also two in-house latest embroidery machines and all kind of printing facilities. Presently, company is producing sports wears for TK Hockey Equipment Germany and its customers worldwide including Europe, America, Australia, Africa and Asia, Grays of Cambridge England and its world wide customers, Morrant Group England, Roll Sports Spain, Select Sports Denmark and Derbystar Germany. Rubber Bladders In 1997, to strengthen the quality base for footballs, the company established a rubber unit for the manufacture of rubber latex bladders and rubber sheets. Presently, the entire production of rubber unit is being utilized by football unit. ISO 9000 Certification The companys quality system is certified by DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV) Netherlands in conformance with ISO 9000 quality standard since 1999. Social Compliance Certification The company is certified by Fairtrade Labeling Organization (FLO) since 2004 for its social compliance standards
